Bad break up. One month later, he agreed to sex in a nice hotel near my house. Gave me his credit card to check out. Told me to hold on to it until we meet again.

Two days later, I asked if I could use it for small purchases. He agreed.

One week after sex: No calls. Though, he will reply me promptly when I ask him something or if I chat him up. One word answers. No mention of wanting me to return his credit card. I secretly spent 3500 dollars.

Two weeks after sex: No calls. Still replies me promptly. Slowly starts asking me about myself. I confessed I started to develop feelings after sex that night. He just wanted to be friends. Rather be friends than lose me completely. Surprisingly, asked me out for breakfast the next. He said it's just to hang out and talk. I was genuinely busy at work so I couldn't make it. We ended up texting the whole day trying to coordinate our schedules to meet. I wanted to drop off his credit card at his house after work. Just a drive by because it's weird holding on to a guy credit card of a guy who just friendzoned you. He declined, said he was tired.

That is my story. My question: Why doesn't he want his credit card back? Seriously, there's like no urgency whatsoever.

Hard to guess... but YOU spending that $3,500 on it was a big no-no... he can contest that and it will all come back to you in a bad way if it does. Since you are NOT joint on it and you aren't listed as an authorized user at that point it becomes fraud.
The fact the person that took it did so without really checking doesn't leave you off the hook.

Personally I think he's reckless and stupid doing that. Not to mention irresponsible on a number of levels. I wouldn't do that with my own mother or Brother, and certainly not a friend or someone I slept with. WIFE yes, but nobody less than that.

How does one "secretly" spend money using a credit card? Do you think he has received the statement yet? When he does, what do you think will happen? According to you, he gave you the card for a specific purpose. Plus he gave you permission for some additional purchases. But any purchases he did not give you permission for is thievery. And he could have you prosecuted for them.

I suppose it could be payment for occasional sex. He can either rant and rave about the high charges, let it go, or claim you stole the card. How will you defend the fact that you didn't? I think he was testing you. BTW, you failed that test.

Most likely he does not expect you to use his credit card. And when he finds out you used 3500 he will either try to use it to blackmail you into something or he will file charges of theft against you.

What you did is criminal and unless you can give him 3500 dollars today, you need to start finding a way to pay this back.

You also need to talk to him about it, since when he gets the bill in a month, he will know anyway.

Sounds like he has little interest in you, except for sex, but not sure it is 3500 worth of sex.

I don't know why he is an irresponsible idiot who doesn't care if a booty call keeps and uses his credit card. Maybe he hasn't gotten the bill yet, so doesn't know how you have been stealing his money.
