Windows 10 and Toshiba laptop internet connection
I installed my windows 10 upgrade with no issues. About a month ago it started limiting my internet connection so I cannot connect to download the mivrosoft patch I need to take care of it. How can I get this patch installed to fix the issue? It already got rid of my windows 8.1.

How are you connecting to the internet? Wireless or hardwire?

Do you have any cleaning software to clear out the cache, old log files, and such? My (Toshiba)Satellite needs the CCleaner run just about every time I open it or it bogs down with all the Edge stuff.

Yes I regularly clean it. After the install, I started getting the limited connection message. I went to tech support at toshiba where it said the patch would fix it.

Do you have the latest driver installed for your nic card ? If it is intel then make sure it is an intel driver. Win 10 doesnt always use the best drivers only generic ones to get the system going. Also have you used the windows problem solver for your network card?

    Try this

Check your Windows Update history - CNET

I have been reading a lot about everyone problems with windows 10, and mine has been running like a top except for the occasional connectivity issues which has had nothing to do with windows.

I found the updates and they all say waiting to download. But it won't because it limits my connection to the internet. How can I get the updates if I can't connect?

Please describe your wireless router. It may have to be reconfigured.

Connect your computer to one of the other ports on your wireless router through an Ethernet cable. This will allow your computer to communicate directly with your router's settings.
Be aware that the problem could well be with the internet provider. Call them.

Sorry if I hit a wrong button in the post. Am not sure. Lol.

I have been on a lot of different providers and it is always automatically limited connection. Is it possible that a wired connection may work differently. I haven't tried that yet. Also. Is it possible to download these updates and drivers to another computer and install from disk.

They have been running new cable lines all summer here. At least upgrade from a disk to a flash drive. :D

    Libraries usually have great connectivity.

    Good luck
