Hi, I use to have a external well pump that was replaced three years ago with a internal pump and my water pressure was great. I could run different faucets at the same time and never lost pressure. Recently there was a banging noise in my system when the pump shut off. I drained the system and changed the back flow preventer and checked the air in my tank and realized there was no air so I added 30 lbs in and put everything back together. I have a 30/50 switch which cuts in and out fine. The problem is that I lost water pressure, and can only run one fixture at a time.I removed the back flow preventer and ran a straight nipple thinking this was the problem. It wasn't. Tank still had 30 lbs of pressure so that seems fine. I have a water softener system and whole house filter which I bypassed and that didn't change anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The title to your post is lost pressure but that is not the case if your tank has 30 psi. You have almost no volume which is likely caused by some restriction of clog somewhere. Is the flow bas equally with both hot and cold?

Yes, I did notice the check valve is missing a nut. Leaving me to believe that it blew apart.

Suggest that you go to the next valve down the line and look for the nut there.

Should have been 28 lbs. If your switch is set to 30 lbs (exactly) and you set the tank air pre-charge to 30 lbs. exactly then the pump will not come on until you open a faucet.

If there was no air then you have a ruptured bladder.

If there was truly no air in the tank, that would cause the pump to cycle on and off rapidly. The rapid cycling of the pump could be the cause of the check valve failing.
