    Calculate salary
Hi I just started working for the state, and I was trying to figure out how to calculate what my total paycheck will be before taxes. I'm on salary and we get paid semimonthly. If my salary was around 511.30 (its not hourly salary) and I work 40 hours a week how do I calculate that?:)

if you earn $511.30 gross a payday, and get paid twice a month, your yearly income would be $12,271.20. If you work 40 hours a week for 52 weeks that comes out to %5.90 an hour. I doubt you are working for $5.90 an hour so either the $511.30 is take home or you do not work 40 hour weeks.
If you get paid twice a month, you have 24 pay periods in a year. Multiply your gross pay per pay period by 24 to arrive at your yearly salary. Then divide by 2080 (40 hours X 52 weeks) to arrive at your hourly pay.
If the $511.30 is a weekly pay, then multiply that by 52, divide by 24 and that would be your gross per pay period, which is $1,107.82.
    Hope this helps.
