Joining large timbers together for table
    Hi,

I have some 4" x 8" x 7' Hem Fir timbers that I want to join together for a table top. Yes, a heavy table top, I have been told. I am wondering the best way after squaring the timbers? Just glue and clamp, biscuits, dowels? Suggestions welcomed?

    Thanks.

    I'd just glue and clamp.
If it were going to be a chopping block, dowels the full width.

If you have a biscuit joiner, I'd go that way.
