When you swell up, it is like a bad allergic reaction. Many people carry Epipens.

Oh trust me... you WILL know... you will have far, far more swelling than the size of a nickel or Quarter... you might swell completely and die when your windpipe swells shut. It can be life threatening.

There are treatments that do work for many people that do have a severe allergy. Speaking as someone who did and it worked for.

Haven't had to run to the emergency room for that in over 28 years...and I have had to several times before that.

And yes I have been stung several times since....with no reaction.

So anyone that DOES have a severe allergy to bee stings...talk to your doctor about desensitization shots....it will take a while to do...over a year. But the result is well worth it.

You will have to go to a doctor and be tested.

OR as noted, be stung and you will know. I can tell you the nightmare about that when I was 9. Even today, if it is a bug and it flies, I am terrified.

I am horribly allergic to bee stings. Typically I swell on one half of my body. Back when I was a kid they used to give me Benadryl shots but now it's available over the counter.
