An ETG home test kit question
    Hello

I have a question regarding ETG home test kits, that from all of your posts I've currently read through, I know you'll have the answer.

And I'm sure many others would have this information as well, so definitely feel free to post up. Replies from everyone is most appreciated.

    Here's the question;
I just started diversion, and I have abstained from drinking any alcohol. The lab that gets sent the UA samples have a 100 ng / 25 mg ( I believe that's correct - the"MG" - I DO know it's 25 )

With everything I've read online about ETG tests, accidental exposure, AND the fact that the lab's cut off threshold is only 100 ng - I'm freaked out. So I want to get a home EtG test kit, and the only one I have found is at the 300 ng cut off level, not 100 ng. So this leaves a 200 ng gap.

a.) With that 200 ng gap, what is the best way to ensure I pass the ETG UAs? Meaning I might be negative at the 300 ng cut off level, but fail at the 100 ng level.

b.) Do you or anyone know of a ETG home test kit that is at the 100 ng level? I've tried searching specifically with the ng level, and like a said, I've only found one that's close and is at the 300 ng level.

Even though I'm not drinking alcohol, I'm still freaked out about the very low 100 ng cut off level the lab has in place, instead of going with a 500 ng cut off level.

From what I've read in your posts, the 100 ng cut off level, could easily be achieved from accidental exposure so I want to self test myself. I don't want any dings, while on diversion, and with even abstaining from alcohol I want to make sure I pass all of my EtG UAs.

As I'm sure all of you know this, but the amount of products out there that have alcohol in them, is large and vast. I am reading the ingredients in everything I buy at the grocery store, and diligently ask the server how food is made when I go out to dinner. I may even stop going out to dinner while in diversion.

Thanks everyone for reading this, sorry about it being a bit of a ramble, and thank you all in advance for any information and / or links to home test kits. I greatly appreciate it.

    Cheers...

You are required to abstain from even incidental exposure... which is easy enough if you make the effort (but as I gather you see it does take an effort) as it is in many things. You have to find the alcohol free formulations of over the counter stuff (cosmetics, etc) alcohol free versions exist in everything including prescription medications, use soap and water instead of hand sanitizer, etc. Look for kids formulations as many of those are made that way for parents that want to limit ANY exposure by their children.

Because excuses aren't accepted because alcohol is alcohol and tests can't differentiate... and far too many people lie about drinking which makes it harder for those who do actually abstain but have incidental exposure.

Also...I would not expect the home test to be as accurate or sensitive as a lab test.

You are already doing great by abstaining from alcohol and products containing alcohol. You just need to stop freaking yourself out and relax. If you really need the stress relief, call a testing lab and ask them the costs of their Private party testing, or your doctor, rather than trust an over the counter (Or online) testing package. However there are some reliable ones, some are kits designed to be sent to a lab.

Thank you for the link, and the idea of calling a testing lab. There's one I pass every day to and back from work.

And yeah, I'm freaking myself out. I guess that's what happens when you read too much information out there. Abstaining from alcohol hasn't proved that difficult. But finding out about the lab's ng cut off level really got my brain spinning.

Thank you again for your reply.
