There was a college that offered a associates degree in radiation therapy technology, but the college no longer offers the program. There's another college in my state that offers this program, but the school is a 4 hour drive away from where I live, see so a total of 8 hours to and from. I have 2 young children and my husband can't relocate, I have to apply to a college nearby. There are a lot of radiologic technology schools close to were I live about a half an hour drive. Could I get a degree in radiologic technology, then get a certificate in radiation therapy? The colleges offering certificates are just 15 minutes away from where I reside. By the way, can a diagnostic medical sonographer earn a certificate in radiation therapy, I know a radiation therapist can become sonographers with a certificate.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to contact the local educational sources to ask your questions?

ma0641 is correct. Those schools will know exactly how to mesh your school experience and coursework to give you the best bang for your buck and the credentals that will be most helpful in your future.
