Bought a new American Standard Covina pressure balancing bath and shower set. I plugged the tub side because I only want the shower side. I installed it and know for sure water is getting to the valve but no water will come out the shower. I have turned the handle every direction but nothing. I took the valve apart and water runs out. Seems that something is plugged.

It could be that the cartridge got plugged up and in most cases the cartridge cannot be cleared so it will need to be replaced. If you can wait then American Stadard will probably send you a new one. If it can't wait, go to your local plumbing supply store and purchase a replacement cartridge... should be that simple!
