    Evicting my son
How do I make my abusive son get out of my house? He is 24 and refuses to leave.

You evict him according to your local laws.

If he abuses you physically call the police, have him arrested and then get a order of protection.

If not, give him written formal notice of eviction, and if he does not leave, file for eviction at the courthouse.

Any question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Your son is a resident in the home. In effect this makes him your tenant and you his landlord. Therefore you need to follow the local laws to evict. Generally this means a written notice to vacate within a set time. If he doesn't vacate by the deadline, then you need to go to court for an eviction order. Eventually an eviction order will be issued which can be used to hire a sheriff to physically remove him.

In some states (not many) he's a lodger rather than a tenant, and you can get him out faster. Ask at your local courthouse.
