Magnesium metal reacts with iron sulphate solution
Wha tis the product of the reaction
And..
What is the name of this type of chemical reaction
It's called substitution, see if you can guess or find the product, I'll tell you if you're right.
Please tell me I don't no!?
Well, lets say you have magnesium ions, iron ions, and sulphate ions floating around.
Magnesium is more reactive than iron, so which one is going to react with the sulphate?
So what are the products?
I don't no please just tell me
I pretty much have.
What is the answer to this?
Magnesium metal reacts with iron sulphate solution
What is the product of the reaction?
What do you think it is?
Please have a guess, I've given you plent of information to work it out with, The answer is right in front of you!
Magnesium and iron?
Where did the sulphate go? :)
Magnesium sulphate and iron
Huzzah!
Well done! That wasn't too hard was it?
You see the magnesium replaces the iron in the sulphate compound, because magnesium is more reactive than iron (see the reactivity series).
