Please give details. Why a POA? Is what still good?

What kind of POA are we talking about? There are minor ones that only need a signature and others that have a greater ruleset behind them. What are you trying to cover with a POA ?

As long as you can prove that the POA was signed properly, then it should not need to be filed, but does need to be presented whenever used.
