Stucco over exterior Hardie Board construction... how do I do this?
My house has Hardie Board on the outside of the house. What is the best way to stucco our house? Can we stucco directly to the Hardie board, or do we need to wrap the house with wire mesh first?

I see a disaster in the making if this isn't done by people with experience. Any leak will be held inside and kept wet causing serious rot in a very short time.

There is a lot more to a proper job than making it stick. Drainage in case of leaks is critical.

You certainly can't stucco directly to the Hardee Board. What style Hardee makes a difference too, and Hardee is only partly cement; there's sawdust in it too.

I agree with smoothy - it would take all day to discuss this.
