I need a good syfy book to read. Any suggestions?

Anything by Asimov or Heinlein to start with. The Dune series by Herbert is another classic. There are just so many, ask your local librarian.

Are you looking for a stand-alone book or a series? Do you prefer light-hearted or hardcore? Are you wanting straight Science Fiction or are you okay with some Fantasy?
