    TV mount supported by metal chimney?
    I have a gas chimney in my apartment that will never work again its appears it has two studs but its mostly metal will that hold a wall mount holding a 60 pound TV

    I would not anchor anything to what you describe. You may be able to use the studs but without a picture it is impossible to tell.

    The TV mount must be attached to the studs with the bolts that are supplied. They must be into solid studs.

    There are wall plugs that will hold the weight but must be used in at least 1/2 inch sheetrock.

    would not trust the metal to be strong enough to hold TV up.

    You better investigate this deeper, or post a picture BEFORE you trust that these studs, or where they are anchored will support the weight of your expensive, heavy TV.
