I have a vertical cast iron pipe in my basement that is 7 foot away from where my new bathroom and toilet will be. How do I get a safe angle without going through the middle of my basement--do I need to cut the cast iron pipe shorter and use pvc? Help I'm confused as to how this all works. Thank you!

Is this the vent? Can you sketch out where things go. I can't figure out what you are trying to connect. Is the pipe below what you are draining or is everything on the same level?
