    Recalls on old car
I bought a car, prev owned by my friends mother (owner died). This
Chevy Malibu 2000 had three recalls. I took care of the latest one re
The key and ignition, but the other two neither my friend nor I have
Any idea if the problem was taken care of.

The car originally was in another state where the owner lived(Ohio) and
There are many mechanics there so I don't know if she took care
Of these recalls. How can I find this information.

Recalls follow new owners through the miracle of registration, so it sounds like your first 2 were done.
(I have a 2008 Malibu with 3 recalls, none of which I have attended to, just because I'm too lazy. I was not the owner of record when the first 2 were announced, but Chevy 'found' me!)

Just take it to any GM dealer and they will run the VIN for you and tell you what has or has not been done.

Thank you... I hope so... I actually drove it from Ohio
To NYC with no problems. It's a 2000!

I just made a decision to bring to the place that handled the latest recall just to make sure all
Was done... after all, I was fortunate enough to get this car from some who
Drove while she was in her 80's and even though it's 15 years old, my
    Mileage is under 45,000!!

The dealer can easily tell you what has and has not been done.

Take your ID along with a current registration, or other proof of ownership, into any GM dealer and ask if there are any outstanding recalls.

This holds true with any new car dealer in the US.

You all gave me excellent advice... Ihave the option of going to a dealer or GM lot, etc.
I will remember to bring proof of ownership (never thought about that)... you know, this
Car has both CD player AND cassettes... and I still have dozens of cassettes, best of both
Worlds... don't think any car will ever have this again! Thank you all for responding
