    Are there VAT on eggs?

    No VAT as far as I know, just want to make sure

    In the U.S. we don't pay VAT; instead it's called sales tax. And most basic foodstuffs, such as eggs, are not subject to sales tax.

    In Canada, basic foodstuffs are not taxed but in a restaurant, single servings are.
