    Ridge Vent on Roof
We recently had the shingles replaced on our Florida home. The original ridge vent at the peak of the roof was a single span from end-to-end; however, the new ridge vent is two separate spans with a flat space in the center. Is this acceptable?

I've never seen a ridge vent done in 2 sections like that before, but what matters is whether or not it's enough ventilation for your attic - if there is insulation in the rafters or the floor, whether the roof is hipped on 4 sides (no gables), and what else is running through the attic or on the roof such as skylights. And of course what the needs are in your temperature zone. I myself wouldn't be concerned, unless possibly if you have insulated rafters.
