    Glued stairs
What is the best way to remove carpet adhesive from concrete basement stairs?
I have 6 stairs and the previous owner glued cheap carpet down and we pulled it up because of other issues. Now we are stuck with yellowish glue all over the front and tops of each step. I have tried chisel ing it off but it is very slow and it isn't really effective (the glue is about the consistantsy of rubber cement.

Try mineral spirits (paint thinner, that is paint thinner not paint remover)

Yep, mineral spirits and coarse steel wool. After it is all gone, use some more mineral spirits and fine wool, finally soap and water. You could also try a heat gun to soften the glue and pull it off.

I am using something called goof off professional strength. It doesn't seem to do anything.
