Mostly it will depend on what the expungement involved. Some things never go away. Did you have a lawyer handeling your case for it? You might want to ask them what the rules are. Some things only disappear on a local scale but not a federal one. You need to check if your violation falls into that catagory.
There are huge problems with expungement at many levels. Old databases float around because many agencies, especially private ones, don't pay for updated ones. You might have better luck with a gov't job, but there's no guarantee.
One thing you could do is apply for a job you don't want somewhere else, somewhere that will check But even then you have no way to know which company they use to do the background check.
I would ask the clerk in charge of the expungement filing - about a county job specifically. Then I would double check by asking the clerk in charge of backgrounds for county jobs.
Sometimes they are the ones who really know the most at the local level.
First please understand a live scan, is just a fingerprint check, of your ID, at that point it is connected to a criminal history report of anyone with that ID.
A expunged record still shows up. ( no idea why people think it does not) but the people who print the record out, and give it out, are to delete the expunged record before giving it out.
Expect if the record is going to Government law enforcement agency or unless it is used for a company that has or needs a national security check done. (in USA)
