My air is on cool. It switches to heat. It was 99 degrees in my house yesterday. The a/c guy checked the Freon, replaced the fan and capacitator. Do I need to replace the thermostat or just re-program it?

Is the switching before or after repair? If after, have them come back. If before, why didn't they look at the t'stat, I would have done so.
