    Theft
Hi I got caught stealing clothes at simeons. Im 19. I stole clothes amount of 50$. They called the cops and all just to check me and my school bag if I had more stolen stuff. So then the cops told me I had to go to court and I was scared cause I don't know what to say at court and this is my first time stealing. What will happen? :(

Our crystal Balls got recalled. So its up to the Judge and the DA. Anything from probation and fines to fines and jail time is possible. I suggest you hire a lawyer.

First time "stealing" or just getting caught. You may find out your incident will be very costly in the future.

Any question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

First time offense is likely to get probation, but a conviction will stay on your record for a long time.

You could get probation in a plea agreement to a lesser charge, and if so you sure better abide by the terms of it to the letter. Jail or not, consider this a strike against you from the legal system that will stay for a very long time to come.

Hope you learn from it, and do better, and think about the consequences before you break the law again.

You will get a fine, and then also have to pay a civil penalty to the store. (normally) expect to pay the court about 250 to 300, and the store about the same.

Then they may do 6 months to a year probation.

Long term, this is now a criminal record, and can hurt you getting jobs, (even at a hamburger place) and can will follow you the rest of your life.

You should , hire an attorney, and see about making some deal, for a first offender program
