Tried to use various key combination in an attempt to reset

When I press any cycle and press start it displays --

Displays what?

I assumed it displays "--" or dashes.

What kind of appliance do you have?? In order to look it up we need to know what it is. I have different manuals that tell what to do to reset it, but in order to do this I need to know if it's a dryer, a dishwasher, or a washing machine.

I'm pretty sure this is a dishwasher based on the model number.

I think I lean toward checking the control board/touchpad if unplugging the unit for a minute yields no different results for the display led.

Without an ohm meter and the knowledge to use it, a service call is the next step. This is an old model dishwasher that dates back to the 90's.
