    Deere 316 no reverse
    John Deere has forward hydro, but no reverse.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    A 316 should an "S" (or "Z") shaped handle on the dash. If you have no reverse then this adjusted incorrectly.

    Check the reverse check valve on top of the transmission .

    Hi,
    Agree with DG as I have seen the stick. There are two valves on top of the transaxle, one for forward and one for reverse. They are brass in color and have small push buttons in their center. They are spring loaded and the pin should be up or out, depending on your way of describing it.
