Hi movie fanatics ;)

So, a friend of mine is trying to figure it out a name for a movie he saw, based on some info he gave me I'm trying to help and get that possible... for now, nothing comes to mind.
What he remembers:

- Some kind of female cientist or cop, goes to this guy huge white house, then a scene were she goes to a red/blood lake or river where frogs and fish are dead, caused by a virus or some strange thing and where she finds a little dead girl...

- also, a scene where a cow is dead, and they are trying to remove it so it will not contaminate something... lol Don´t have a clue.

- He knows the movie is prior to 1996 :)

Sounds like The Reaping, but it's from 2007.
