Once a felon always a felon.
If Canada knows he's a felon? I don't think so.Quote:

If he can find someone willing to marry him, sure.Quote:

As indicated, he probably can't travel there, so how would he be able to live with his wife there?Quote:

You will have to apply for permission to travel. It is doubtful you will be allowed to go into Canada.
You can apply for a wavier but if he has a lot of convictions then it's going to be a long shot. Speak to an immgaration lawyer in Canada.
Visit? no. You need to be pardoned of your conviction before you can come into Canada. As for moving after marriage... I am not sure on that one, you would need to call either a lawyer who is conversant on this subject or the government of Canada to see what their rules are. You could be eligible, but I know that we've (I'm Canadian) been making it harder for convicted criminals to get into Canada. You're (soon to be?) wife might be living down in the states instead.
