I just replaced the water inlet valve and ice maker on a frigidaire side by side
I replaced the inlet valve and ice maker on a frigidaire side by side fridge. Now I can't get any water up to the ice maker, I can get water out of the door dispenser but not the ice maker. Prior to changing the ice maker the water would flow into the ice maker and keep running, now with the new ice maker I can't even get the ice maker to fill with water, would this be a faulty ice maker, or inlet valve, both of which I just replaced pretty much at the same time.

You need to manually fill the ice maker with water for the first cycle on some machines. Here is a manual: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...0Dispenser.pdf

You will need a meter to diagnose this problem if filling it does not work. You will have to check the wires from the receptacle inside the freezer to the water valve, and you will need to check the solenoids on the water valves.

I've attached a photo of the ice maker I installed. How do I test this particular model. It appears that the motor is working because I can see the ejection blades going through there cycle and the heating elements work. It's just not getting any water.

You also can remove the plate and you will find a microswitch that rides on a cam that sends power to the water solenoid. You need to test it to see if the contacts are closing. The switch has a common (input power), a normally closed contact, and a normally open contact (water valve). Turn off the power, unplug unit and remove it in order to work on it. It's very easy to fix.
