I have been told that blood clots when you are menstrating is due to a low amount of the anti-cuagulant that your body normally produces which makes your period a lot easier! But some times when you have a heavy flow you can get blood clots! As far as I know it is normal! Just make sure you eat some red meat when you are on your period to keep your iron levels high!
