Just curious about HUD section 8 incident on my local news channel.
A Jamaican owner for 37 years, had her next door neighbor section 8 program recipient
Dumping garbage and throwing rocks and fire bombs which caused property damage to her property.
She complained to HUD which found no evidence that violated their policies. Despite video of the incidents. Help Me Howard attorney for the local TV station also got no help from HUD. Howard recommended she file charges with the state attorney’s office
For her property damage.
Can HUD just buy a property and turn it into section 8 in the middle of residential homes on a block

Sure. Why not? Are you suggesting HUD implement some sort of apartheid system, whereby HUD homes are only allowed in the "poor" sections of town?

I would disagree slightly with "Help Me Howard". It appears that the objectionable conduct was criminal activity. Thus she should report it to the police or district attorney. Perhaps that's the equivalent of "state attorney" in the jurisdiction, I guess. In many places, a state attorney is responsible for civil, not criminal, litigation.

I suspect that the HUD office just didn't care about lifting a finger, not that they actually checked any policies.
The neighbor is going to have to set up a camera, get some good proof, and sue the occupant, I imagine. Suing HUD is like suing .... any brain dead gov't agency full of employees whose only care is making sure they keep getting raises and more benefits.

I don't believe HUD did anything wrong. So, brain-dead or not, it's really not their fault or problem.

I agree, HUD didn't do anything wrong. I doubt if harassing a neighbor in this way is a violation of Section 8 policies. If the property owner has proof of damage caused by the tenant, then file criminal charges or sue for damages.

I qualified and had several of my rental houses OK for Section 8. I would get my check every month from government, no rent issues.
The rules of rental deal with what they do, to their house and meeting the income. Does HUD own them, or are they owned by someone else and merely qualified though HUD for payment?
