    How can I check my intek 22hp B & S elec. Choke.
    I have a simplicity brodmore 22hp intek. When I start it , it smokes blake and will die unless I engage the blades then it will run fine tillI shut it off , then it will do the same thing.

    Hi,
    Not familiar with an electric choke on this model. They do have an anti-backfire solenoid.
    Can tell you that for ever what reason, you have an overly rich mixture that causes the black smoke. A bit is normal at first cranking. When you engage the deck; you are "loading" the engine which takes more fuel and thereby eliminates the rich condition.

    This has a thermatic solonoid that has a linkage hooked to it. If I don't engage the deck the engine will choke out and die.
