Why would anyone give anyone else they don't know free money? Why would anyone believe they would?

There are scam emails and phone calls originating in India telling people they owe money to the IRS and can give a credit card number to the caller to keep from going to jail or that they will get tax-free money (but usually have to give a credit card or bank account number to the caller). SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

The Department of Treasury does not do the taxes, that is the IRS, and no they do not give out "tax free money" And no, they are not going to email you, or call you and tell you that there is free money.
