    Undermount sink
I just took out my cracked under mount sink from my bathroom. How would I measure for the new sink? Its oval, so do just measure the opening from the top ? Do I have to add any inches? Its just a standard bathroom vanity with a granite top. Thanks anthony

Hello Anthony923: To measure for new sink, measure the widest point of the hole - from left to right and the widest point from top to bottom - and add about 1" to each dimension. That will be the size of your under-mount sink.

Example: You measure 15" x 18". Your replacement sink size will be 16" x 19".

    Hope that helps

Are you doing another undermount or use a drop in?

Thanks for your response. So I am to measure width x length? It seems that those dimensions come up on line but if I look for length x width (which in my case would be 14x19), I am not finding anything.

    Thanks.

Yes another under mount . My measurements are top to bottom ( which I am assuming is the width) 13 3/4 and the left to right (which I am assuming is the length) 18 3/4.

    Doers that make sense?

You will have a hard time getting exactly the same dimension sink as the old one. You want to get something as close as possible. Look for sink with that measures around 16" x 20"... Sink can be a bit larger - and should be a bit larger. Even if it is not evenly sized ( width vs length ), the difference will hide in overlap. Go to Lowe's or Hope Depot to Special Order desk and see if they can look it up for you in catalog. Or do your own research on line.

Let me know how you did
