What do these creatures look like, and where are you finding them?

Maggots are fly larvae and they wouldn't infest a dog unless the dog had open wounds or something. I think you need to find out what you actually have because maggots doesn't sound right. If you find maggots, they are usually all together in one spot, like festering some spot where there is food, like in a food can that hasn't been properly thrown away. You just get rid of whatever has maggots on it and it solves the problem. Then you make sure that if you have flies in the house, you kill them all.

This wouldn't normally happen in a clean home. Is your house in clean condition?

Maggots aren't on your dog. Clean up the ones you see. They pretty quickly turn into houseflies. They don't multiply, and don't even crawl very far.

Never forget the first and only time I had them in my apartment, almost 50 years ago. I lifted up a bag of garbage and freaked out.

(OP isn't saying the dog has them.)

And the body of the question says they are not on the dog, but in the house.
