    Labor plus material equals costs. Get 3 estimates from local contractors and just answer their questions.

    Labor is the rate of the worker(S) times hours worked, and materials is dependent on how much of what you need. There may also be a fee for the estimate, usually deducted upon approval of doing the job, and any taxes, or applicable permits governed by local ordinance.

    What kind of project are you talking about? Outside, inside, big, or small? Doing the work yourself?

    In any case, prices will vary widely with your location. As suggested above, get 3 estimates. That will give you rough idea how much will such a job cost to do
