    Taxes with no W2
    Hello,

I am attempting to file taxes, but my employer does not generate W2 forms for me, and they don't report my pay to the state or the federal government. This is legal- I'm a graduate student paid through a University Fellowship- it's not quite like getting illegally paid under the table. All of my income falls in this category, save ~$80.

How do I find out if my pay is taxable, and then how do I report it?

    Thank you.

    Most fellowship income is tax-exempt.

If you have not gotten a W-2 or Form 1042-S, hen you have no requirement to file a tax return.
