    Standard or Itemized deductions
Hi, I moved to California on Dec 2014 before that I was in Washignton.
My state tax withheld itself is greater than standard deduction...
Can I use Schedule A to deduct my State tax withhelds and claim Itemized deductions ?

Also I have purchased Motor cycle (in WA state). Can I deduct the sales tax ?

    Are there any restrictions ?

    For Home mortgage:
Can I deduct the home mortgage interest paid to India ? If so what are the documents I should provide ?

    Thanks

Yes, On using the schedule A instead of the standard reduction.

    No, on the sales tax.

You can claim home mortgage interest on your Home in India, but you must list name and address of the Indian bank.
