Pregnancy 35 weeks. My mucus plug came out a few days ago and I have in pain since. But today I have been in more pain and have a couple of contractions that were very painful but I still feel her move some. I also have vaginal swelling is this normal? Not sure if I shoud go to hospital or not?

It's not uncommon to lose your mucous plug a few days to a few weeks before labor begins. Try to keep track of your contractions. Do they happen on regular intervals or are they irregular?

Laboring contractions will get stronger and stronger, and closer and closer together. Braxton Hicks contractions are not uncommon at this point in your pregnancy. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact your doctor/midwife.

Best advice you can get. Your doc/midwife is more then happy to help you figure this out. Ours came to our house at 11:30 at night to diagnose what we were thinking could be preterm labour to being something along the lines of braxton hicks with false labour. We felt bad for it but she said that she'd rather be sure then not.

As well each pregnancy and delievery is going to be different. As in the stock market it is true here: Previous performance is not an indicator of future results.
