I recently replaced the kitchen sink garbage disposal in my home. Now the dishwasher does not completely drain leaving about three inches of water in the dishwasher. The drain line from the dishwasher goes into a port on the garbage disposal. What did I do wrong?

Did you remove the plug in the dishwasher connection?

Besides the plug Harold is mentioning in his post, also, make sure the discharge pipe is not kinked along the way.

Also, I would like to mention: there is a large strainer on the bottom of dishwasher that filters water before it enters pump. Make sure it is not clogged with food left-overs.
