NonResident for Tax purpose Submitted 1040-NREZ for W2 but received 1042-S after that
    Hi,
I am a Non-Resident for Tax purpose (finished 1st year as a J1 Research Scholar). I got my W2 form from my employer and submitted my tax returns on march 15th. I have taken back all my tax withholding amount due to my treaty exemption. But, recently, I got the form 1042-S for 2250$. Now Should I report this to IRS. If so, How should I proceed. I came to know that I should submit a 1040-X. But I don't know what to attach with that Should I attach a corrected 1040NREZ. Please tell me what should I do?.
    Thanks
    Mallik.

    Mallik:

Need to know more about the Form 1042-S.

    Were taxes withheld?

Yes my taxes were with held for all the months (for which I got w2 and submitted 1040NREZ). Only for the first month my taxes were not with held and I got the 1042-s form only for that month.

You need to submit a Form 1040X and add the income from the Form 1042-S.
