    Mounting outside security lights
I just moved in to a mobile home and want to install security lighting and light switches. The problem is I am not sure where the studs are and not familiar with mobile home framework. Need to know how to mount theses two items and how to go about finding where the proper place to do this is.

They have wall studs too, sometimes on 16" or 24" centers. You will need to find the wall studs either by looking for nails or screws, tapping the wall to find a solid spot or, use a stud finder on the inside walls and transfer dimensions to the outside. Another possibility would be to use a ground mounted post and UF cable or conduit.

You can use surface mounted boxes for both the switches and lights running wires in conduit. The siding and inside finish should be stable enough to support them.
