    Bad Credit
How can I stop employers from denying me employment because of my bad credit. I have been turned down by two employers when they checked my credit. Prior to my initial layoff my credit was fine however, things happen. How can I fight this because it is so unfair.

Not everyone checks credit... just keep applying. You really can't stop them if it is in their policy.
In the mean time - credit is VERY important in almost everything you do in life (ie, buying a house, buying a car, getting insurance, etc). You should really pull your own credit (free site is www.freeannualcredit report) and make sure there is nothing on there you don't know about. Then set a game plan on how you are going to improve it.
Try some other companies - generally smaller places don't have the time/resources to pull all applicant's credit.
    Good luck!

Yes some places of employment check your credit rating, sadly they reference a bad credit score as a person who may be a bad risk for them.
There is nothing illegal about it and you can not stop them.

You will just have to keep applying for other jobs till you find one.
