    Replacing a garbage disposal
I'm trying to replace my garbage disposal and the plug is not easily accessible. The cord goes into the wall under the sink through the same hole the water pipe comes through. What would be the best route to replace the garbage disposal? We would be cutting blindly into the wall and didn't want to risk cutting any major lines.

How far down have your managed to track the cord? Is the wiring exposed in your basement/crawl space? I am pretty sure a hidden plug like that isn't to code. Might want to contact your electrician.

Are you sure it's not hard wired? Why not just disconnect the power at the disposal and then reconnect after replacement?

I agree with Ma0641 that would be the easy way to disconnect the wires from the old disposal and connect them to the new one, good luck.
