I have a Kenmore Elite 665--what function does Smart Wash button perform?

I have a Bosch Dishwasher but there is a spelling mistake on the front of it, it is spelt Kenmore but is pronounced Bosch. You really need to go to the manufacture to get the real breakdown of what that feature will do. Kenmore rebrands their products under their Kenmore name.

That being said the "Smart Wash" on my dishwasher monitors the rinse water. Once the particulate content of the water drops below a certain point the computer inside declares the load done. The advantage to this is that lightly soiled dishes will have a shorter cycle and one a whole the cycle lengths will be shorter. That is what I have been told the smart washes are these days.
