    Replacing Existing Thermostat
    1. Always turn off power to the air conditioning or heating system prior to removing
    existing thermostat.
    2. Remove the cover of your old thermostat and locate the wire terminals. Do not
    remove wires from terminals yet.
    3. Using small pieces of masking tape label wires prior to removal from terminals. Use
the chart below to determine the new terminal designations for your new thermostat.
    4. After labeling and removing all wires from terminals, unscrew the existing thermostat
sub-base from wall. Make sure to secure wires to prevent them from slipping back
into the hole in the wall.

Thanks for the answer. I do not have a heat pump. Also, the yellow wire is actually orange according to my wife. I already have both manuals, the heat seems to work correctly with the R on RH, W1 wire on W/B, G on G, not sure what wires connect to the RC, Y/O, or Y1. I still have the Blue Y1 wire (1st stage cooling according to the manual, Orange W2 wire (2nd stage heating), and Black C (Common).

Working from an iPhone it's hard for me to see everything but I thought one of those stats was for a heat pump.

After a long afternoon and a lot of research the reason that this thermostat wouldn't work right was do to the fact that it is a 2 stage furnace. I finally found that out from looking up the manual for the furnace online.
