My dog is overly spoiled.
I have trained him sit, stay, come, paw. And he knows nothing else!
When my mother got a hold of him she said he was so cute and he's a baby! He ignores anyone else's commands except my mothers, which almost got him hit by a car TWICE! He wants what he wants when he wants it, and my mother allows this, he is so used to it he will bite you if you don't allow him to do what he wants, and my mother won't let me train him cause she thinks its cruel.

Does your mother understand that depending on where you live if he bites someone and there is a complaint to the authorities he could be put down? Some places are very intolerant of aggressive animals.

Basically, there isn't much we can do if your mother and other family members aren't going to help train him. While a dog may legally belong to one person, it takes everyone's co-operation to train the animal. Everyone includes household members and visitors. Yes, the people who visit need to be aware of the house rules for the dog so that they do not accidentally encourage behavior that is not allowed.

Would it help to explain to your mother that training is good for a dog because it gives them mental exercise as well as physical? That training can also include tricks and work that increase the cuteness of the animal? Positive reinforcement training is not cruel and encourages the dog to behave and do well. It cuts down on aggression which is not cute no matter how small and toy-like a breed may be.

Another question for your mother, would she allow her human child(ren) to act and behave the way the dog does?
