NEED HELP filled 1040A instead of 1040NR EZ as I am a international student(F1)
I came to us in 2013(dec) I filled my first tax returns of 2014 in Feb 10th 2015 through turbo tax and its accepted and got returns of 17$ on 2/19 to my bank account(my fedral withheld is 17$ and state is 367$ and I am getting 17$ and 340$).after that I came to know that I have to do 1040NR EZ but that online site done 1040 A can anyone please help me to solve this?

After seeing post of many people I understood that now I have to do 1040X and 1040NR EZ now and had to send to the IRS again but my problem is that I did not got any more money has like many people I got what the federal and state had withheld from me so now I need to send any check to them with this forms? And also what about my state tax should I need to fill it again I think for all state tax form is same right?

Eventually you need to correct your error by filing Form 1040X and submitting properly-prepared Forms 1040NR-EZ and 8843, but it does NOT have to be done RIGHT NOW. You can wait until your financial situation is somewhat better.

The state return likely does NOT have to be amended.

Thanks for your reply. Do I need to send any check(or money) along with those forms?

Yes, if the calculations show you owe money with the amendment.

    Hi,
Even I ran into the same problem.

I received around 1500$ refund using 1040A form ( which I have already received) but using 1040NR-EZ I got a refund of 700$.
Do I need to return back 800$ or the complete amount of 1500$ to IRS and wait for the corrected return to be sent.

You need to amend the return and send the $800 back to the IRS.
