My new ceiling fan came without installation instructions. Having installed 3 other fans the same week I attempted to install this one. To no avail... It did not work. I have two switches: one that controls the lights on the fan and one for the fan itself on the previous fan that I am replacing. The new fan comes with four wires: orange (Uplight), blue (downlight), black, and white. The previous fan had three wires: black, white, and red. Unfortunately, I did not remove the fan to see how it was connected. So here I am... I also forgot to mention, the new ceiling fan comes with a remote control. The electrical box only has a black, white, and uncovered ground.

Ok, if you have two wall switches your ceiling should have more than just black, white and ground. Unless you only have one wall switch but it has separate buttons for fan and light? It might be specific to the old fan.

Also, if the new fan has a remote, it should have a receiver that mounts and connects to the fan's four wires.

My new ceiling fan came without any instructions. Where can I get the instruction for my 60" eastridge ceiling fan with remote control. I got it from home depot, I think the # is 640659.

Without seeing a wiring schematic, I would suggest that you connect Black from switch to the Black lead on the Fan.

Then connect Red from the switch to the Orange and Blue light fixtures.

The white from the switch should be connect to the black from the supply line. If it is, then it is carrying power from the supply line to the switch. If so, it should have a small band of black tape or paint on it to show that it is carrying power and is no longer a Neutral conductor.
