About six seeks ago, my FUJITSU Hard Drive failed. It contained about 6 years of stuff
That I had not backed up. That was stupid to not do so. Before retiring, I was with a large company that did outsourcing and consulting in the computer area. And I had a lot of experience with desk tops and laptops. I'm also a BSEE from Penn State, Class of '56.

I checked with several Data Recovery companies and
I decided their quotes were too expensive and that I would
Try to recover the data myself.

I bought a MAXTOR, which was on sale, at STAPLES and proceeded to
Load Windows/XP and other drivers, etc.

The Fujitsu HD, like most drives, has a Printed Circuit Board.
After due consideration I decided that the PCB probably failed, since the HD was spinning
    Without making any noise.

I was able to find an exact replacement PCB and solved my
    Data recovery problem.

I spent approximately $75 to fix my problem.

I'll be glad to be your “coach” if you want to try this approach
