    Ask a honda mechanic
The SRS light is on in my 2000 Honda Accord. How much should it cost to replace the sensor?

How much should it cost to replace the airbag sensor on my 2000 Honda Accord? The SRS light has been on for a while and I had a mechanic give me a price to replace and I wanted to see if it is an excessive amount.

It is possible that the SRS light is on mistakenly. That is, maybe you really don't have a problem that needs attention. I've used the procedure in the video shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54QxIwpx0QY to reset the SRS light on my 2000 Accord. My thinking is that if there really is a problem, the light will eventually come back on. If it doesn't, you've saved yourself big $$$$. Note that the timing of the steps is quite important, so if it doesn't go out after the first attempt (of all the steps), I'd try again.

    Good luck!

P.S. It should be noted that if there really is a problem with your SRS, this procedure will delay your getting it properly fixed so there is some risk involved.
